F-15 Eagle – FOD intake covers 1:32 are resin protective covers for the engine intakes for a realistic depiction of a machine standing on the ground.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is a resin detail set, not an airplane kit. It contains the engine intake covers (FOD covers – protection against foreign objects being drawn in) for a model of the F-15 Eagle in 1:32 scale. The covers are fitted over the intakes of the model and give it the look of an aircraft parked on the apron.
The McDonnell Douglas (today Boeing) F-15 Eagle is a twin-engine heavy air superiority fighter that has been in service since the 1970s. On real machines the intake covers are fitted while the aircraft stands on the ground, to prevent foreign objects (FOD – foreign object damage) from getting into the jet engines.
Wash the mold release agent off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The covers suit dioramas and parked models in particular. Wear respiratory protection while sanding.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
