A set of covers for a model of the A-4E/F Skyhawk in 1:32 scale in the rendition designated B, meant for the Trumpeter kit. It holds the air intake covers, a plug for the exhaust nozzle and the cover designated AOE. Alongside this rendition, variant A is offered as well; it pays to compare the two against the maker's materials.
Fitted covers give a model the unambiguous look of a machine parked on the ramp. Besides that they rid the builder of the most laborious part of the work on the intakes: the deep ducts, which otherwise have to be sanded out and sprayed into places a brush cannot get to. In the large scale of 1:32 the inside of the intake is visible more than anywhere else.
Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little distance from the part and sand the rest down so that the cover seats on the outline of the intake with no gap. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Covers and plugs on real machines tend to be strikingly colorful precisely so that nobody overlooks them, so it pays to paint them separately from the model and to fit them only at the end. Try the seating dry beforehand, while the outline can still be adjusted. Choose the glue according to the material of the parts; the specific procedure is given in the maker's instructions.
