Injection-molded plastic kit of the British battleship HMS Dreadnought as she was in 1907, from Trumpeter in 1:700 scale. According to the instructions the model can be built with a full hull on a stand or as a waterline version. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; for the exact contents of the box and any photo-etched parts, follow the enclosed instructions and the markings on the box.
Dreadnought was a revolutionary battleship whose concept made every earlier battleship obsolete - she introduced a uniform heavy gun battery (all-big-gun) and was the first ship of her size to use steam turbines for propulsion. She gave her name to the whole category of dreadnoughts and set off the naval arms race before the First World War. Her 1907 shape corresponds to the ship shortly after completion.
With battleships, first glue and fill the hull carefully. Paint the gun turrets and the superstructures separately and fit them only after the base coat. Pick out the deck with a thin wash in the engraved lines; fit the fine barrels, masts and photo-etched railings with cyanoacrylate glue at the end. A restrained gray naval scheme suits a subject of this period.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
