An injection-molded plastic kit of the British heavy cruiser HMS Exeter in 1:700 scale from the maker Trumpeter. The box contains photo-etched parts, a deck with the relief of wooden planking and an engraved nameplate. It is a rewarding full-hull model for a display case or a stand.
HMS Exeter was a York-class heavy cruiser of the Royal Navy from the end of the 1920s. It became famous in the Battle of the River Plate, where together with other cruisers it fought the German pocket battleship Admiral Graf Spee. Heavily damaged, Exeter was finally sunk by Japanese ships in the Second Battle of the Java Sea in 1942.
Glue the small parts with liquid cement for plastic and the photo-etched railings and details with cyanoacrylate. Spray the hull and the superstructures with an airbrush over a primer; the deck with the wooden relief is picked out with glazes and washes. A stand is suitable for firm display.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
