Responsibility details are not available.
Plastic kit of the Japanese I-400 class submarine in 1:700 scale from Hobby Boss. Despite the small scale the model has decent detail, a full-hull configuration and a lower parts count, so a less experienced modeler will manage it too. The box contains injection-molded parts, a Seiran shipborne aircraft, waterslide decals and a display base. For the exact contents, follow the information on the package.
The I-400 class submarines (Sentoku) were the largest submarines of the Second World War and remained the largest until nuclear submarines arrived in the 1960s. They were underwater aircraft carriers: in a pressure-tight hangar they carried up to three folding Aichi M6A Seiran attack aircraft, which were launched by catapult from the deck. The Imperial Japanese Navy intended them for strikes against distant targets, including the Panama Canal.
Clean off the small flash before gluing. Join the parts with thin cement for plastic. Spray the hull with an airbrush and pick out the decks and the gratings with a dark wash. The tiny Seiran aircraft and the hangar deserve careful sharpening of the detail with a brush.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
