The plastic set from the manufacturer Trumpeter contains several pieces of the OS2U Kingfisher observation floatplane in 1:700 scale. This is not a stand-alone airplane model, but an accessory for populating models of warships in the same scale. The parts tend to be molded in clear plastic. Glue, paints and the target ship model are not included in the package.
The OS2U Kingfisher was the standard American shipboard observation floatplane of the Second World War. It was launched by catapult from battleships and cruisers and was used for observation, for spotting gunfire and for the rescue of crews at sea. It was one of the most widely used catapult aircraft of the US Navy of that time.
Separate the floats and the small parts with a sharp knife and glue them with super glue. Apply the base color first, then the small markings. The finished machines are seated on the ship's catapult or on a parking spot on the deck of the ship model.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
