RN Vittorio Veneto 1940 1:700 (Trumpeter) is a plastic kit of the Italian battleship of the Littorio class as she was in 1940. The model can be built either as a full hull or as a waterline version.

Injection-molded plastic kit of the Regia Marina battleship Vittorio Veneto in her 1940 configuration, in 1:700 scale from Trumpeter. The hull is arranged so that the model can be assembled either as a full hull or as a waterline version, for a display case or for a diorama with a water surface. The box contains finely rendered deck relief, superstructure and gun turret parts, a separate stand and photo-etched extras for the finest items. Small shipborne seaplanes are also included. The binding list of parts and the scope of the photo-etch are given in the instructions in the box.
Vittorio Veneto was the second unit of the Italian Littorio class, modern fast battleships built in the 1930s. Her main armament consisted of nine 381 mm guns in three rotating turrets. The ship was commissioned in 1940 and became one of the key units of the Regia Marina in the Second World War, taking part in a series of operations and battles in the Mediterranean. The combination of heavy armor protection and high speed made her a dangerous opponent for Allied formations.
Choose the hull version before gluing — the lower section and the waterline plate are mutually exclusive in kits like this. Glue the small photo-etched items (radars, ladders, railings) with cyanoacrylate glue and the plastic parts with thin modeling cement for plastic. Treat the surface with a primer, apply the main shades with an airbrush and pick out the panel lines and the detail with a dark wash. The stand and the nameplate make it easier to display the finished model.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
