This is a resin detail set that replaces the speed brakes on the plastic kit of the American Douglas A-3 Skywarrior carrier aircraft in 1:72 scale. The parts are cast with accurate inner structure and definition, which lets you show the brakes in the extended position. The set refines an area that injection-molded plastic usually simplifies.
The A-3 Skywarrior was a large American carrier aircraft, one of the biggest and heaviest machines operated from the decks of aircraft carriers. It served originally as a bomber and later in the tanker and electronic warfare roles. Given its size, the speed brakes were among the prominent features of the airframe.
First wash the parts to remove any mold release agent, separate them carefully from the casting blocks and dry-fit them into the openings in the fuselage. Bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate) and protect your airways while sanding resin. Bring out the inner structure of the brakes with a wash.
