Reskit 1:72 A-4 Skyhawk exhaust nozzle is a resin replacement of the exhaust nozzle for a model of the A-4 Skyhawk carrier attack aircraft in 1:72 scale. It is not an aircraft model but a detail add-on to the basic kit.

The set replaces the exhaust nozzle and the rear part of the engine duct on a model of the Douglas A-4 Skyhawk in 1:72 scale. It is an add-on, not an aircraft model. Plastic nozzles out of the box tend to be split into two halves in this scale and to have too thick a wall at the trailing edge; the resin replacement is cast in one piece, so no longitudinal seam is left behind and the depth of the nozzle looks more convincing. The set is marked generally for the A-4, without specifying the version: if you are building an A-4E specifically, a separate set marked with that version exists.
The A-4 Skyhawk is a light single-seat carrier attack aircraft with a delta wing, designed so that it would fit on deck elevators without the need to fold the wing. Thanks to its small size and low weight it became one of the longest-serving machines of its kind and was used by a number of naval and land-based operators, among other things as a trainer and an aggressor aircraft. During production it went through several versions that differed in powerplant, equipment and the number of pylons, and the shape of the exhaust nozzle is one of the details that differ between the versions.
First wash the casting in lukewarm water with detergent so that no mold release agent is left on the surface. Cut off the casting block with a fine saw and true the mating face on sanding paper laid on a flat support: the nozzle has to seat into the fuselage without a gap. Sand the resin wet and with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). It is practical to paint the nozzle before gluing it into the fuselage: the inside in metallic shades with a dark shade in the depth, the outside to match the rest of the airframe. Do the heat staining of the panels at the very end with weak filters or a light overspray so that you do not overwhelm the detail.
This is an add-on to a model, not a stand-alone kit. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; the basic model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
