Masking stencils for the landing gear bays of the A-7E Corsair II carrier attack aircraft in 1:72 scale. They match the parts of the Hasegawa kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The aid deals with accurately bounding the landing gear recesses on an A-7E Corsair II model. It is based on the dimensions of the parts as Hasegawa molds them; variants for different molds exist for the same type and the outlines of the openings diverge.
The letter E denotes the most advanced form of the Corsair II in the US Navy. Compared with the earlier series it received a stronger TF41 turbofan engine, built under license from the British Spey, and a six-barrel rotary cannon of twenty-millimeter caliber instead of a pair of older weapons. The fundamental step forward came in the avionics, though: a head-up display and digital navigation made it possible to hit a target with an accuracy the jet machines of the day did not reach. This version precisely flew over Vietnam, later over Lebanon and finally in the Persian Gulf.
On carrier aircraft the inner surfaces tend to be light, so lay them on a well covered base, otherwise the color of the plastic shows through. Lay the stencil on only once it has fully cured and spray square to the surface, not at a slant under the edge. Keep one extra coat for the moment when the outer camouflage is finished as well.
