Dead Design 1:72 masks for the two-color national insignia of the Mitsubishi A6M1, A6M2 and A6M3 handle the red disc as well as the white ring around it.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of Dead Design masks for spraying national insignia with a white outline onto a model of the Mitsubishi A6M1, A6M2 or A6M3 in 1:72 scale. The white ring came into use at the moment when darker camouflage began to swallow the red disc and the insignia needed setting off from the base.
The A6M became known as a machine with an extraordinary range and agility, for which it paid with a very light structure without armor and without protected tanks. The A6M1 was the prototype with a different propeller, the A6M2 the production carrier fighter of the first year of the war and the A6M3 the version with a clipped wing and a supercharged engine. The differences between them lie mainly in the outline of the wing and in the cowling, but the placing of the national insignia stayed similar.
A two-color insignia is done in two goes and what matters most is the registration. First spray the white ring and the inside of the disc, let it dry out thoroughly and only then mask for the red. The white needs more coats than you would expect, but each of them has to be thin. Before you reach for the red, check the position against the light, because once it has dried a shift can no longer be put right other than by spraying the whole spot again.
