Plastic kit of the Mitsubishi A6M5c Zero (Hasegawa) in 1:72 scale — a late version of the Japanese carrier fighter Zero.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Japanese carrier fighter in 1:72 scale from Hasegawa. It captures the late A6M5c version (Type 52 Hei), the last and most heavily armed of the A6M5 series. The box contains parts in gray plastic with finely engraved panel lines, a well-worked cockpit with an instrument panel, a clear canopy, a good decal sheet and illustrated instructions. The model builds as a classic kit suitable for more advanced beginners and experienced builders alike.
The Mitsubishi A6M Zero was the main Japanese carrier fighter of the Second World War, famous at the start of the war for its long range and exceptional agility. The late A6M5c version answered the growing superiority of Allied aircraft with heavier armament and better protection for the pilot; compared with the early machines it gained heavier firepower and further equipment. The version appeared in the closing phase of the war, when the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service was fighting defensively against ever better opponents.
Finish and paint the cockpit first and only then close up the fuselage. Use liquid cement for plastic, a primer and an airbrush; mask the clear canopy before painting and decide on the open or closed position. The typical Japanese camouflage schemes come to life with soft transitions of shade, washes into the engraved lines and restrained paint wear on the leading edges and around the cockpit.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
