An all-aspect seeker and clear lenses: AIM-9L/M Sidewinder in four pieces for models in 1:72, from the production of the brand AMMO of Mig Jimenez.
Responsibility details are not available.
The package contains four missiles of the late generations of the Sidewinder, and with them clear lenses for the seekers, covers and a decal sheet. Printed resin manages even the thin double canards, which with injected parts are usually thickened for the sake of the mold.
The L version, nicknamed Lima, brought at the end of the nineteen-seventies a cooled seeker able to acquire a target from the front as well. With that, the limitation that bound the older Sidewinders to an attack from behind fell away. It had its baptism of fire in 1982 over the South Atlantic, where Sea Harriers credited it with the overwhelming majority of their kills. The following AIM-9M received a less smoky motor and better resistance to flares. Both versions were carried by the Eagle, the Fighting Falcon, the Hornet, the Tomcat, the Thunderbolt II, the Tornado and the Gripen.
Glue the lenses of the seekers in only after spraying and varnishing, or they will go matte. The body tends to be light gray with colored stripes according to the filling: a yellow stripe marks a warhead, brown the rocket motor and blue a training round without a charge. Choose according to the scene you are telling with the model, because a training and a live load look different.
An aircraft and paints do not belong with the set.
