The real subject

The An-2 is a single-engine biplane of unusual size which became one of the longest-produced aircraft of all. It serves in agriculture, in the transport of cargo and of people and above all as a machine for parachute jumps. It flies slowly, makes do with a short and unpaved strip, and its angular fuselage with the large cabin is unmistakable. On a model that shows precisely at the glazing, of which the machine has a great deal and which is divided up.

How to work with the masks

• First wash and degrease the surface; on greasy plastic the edges of a mask lift.
• Stick the masks down before spraying and press the edges with a blunt point so that the paint does not run under them.
• Apply the paint in thin coats, or a noticeable step will form at the edge of the mask.
• Remove them as soon as the paint has set, pulling at a sharp angle to the surface.
• Wipe any adhesive residue off with a cloth moistened in water, not with a solvent.
