The set shows the chaff and flare dispensers of the AN/ALE-47 system, that is the equipment for releasing flares and chaff. The package contains several castings with the dispensers in various states of loading, with round as well as oval openings. It is not an aircraft model but a small accessory.
The AN/ALE-47 is an American countermeasures dispensing system fitted to a range of current NATO combat aircraft. It releases decoy flares and chaff reflectors intended to confuse the guidance systems of incoming missiles. Detailed dispensers bring the underside of the fuselage and the nacelles of a model to life.
Wash the resin parts free of mold release agent and carefully separate the small dispensers from the casting blocks with a cutter. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue. Protect your airways when sanding. Accentuate the openings of the dispensers with a dark wash and set the flare charges apart in color.
