Apennine Eurofighters Part II 1:72 - a Model Maker decal set

Apennine Eurofighters Part II is a sheet of waterslide decals in 1:72 scale from the brand Model Maker, intended for models of the Eurofighter Typhoon. It is neither a model nor an accessory set of parts, but decals that are transferred from paper to a finished, painted model. According to the name it is the second part of a multi-part series, so the set follows on from further parts and tends to be of interest to modelers who already own one of them.

The surface underneath decides the result. A decal holds only as well as the area beneath it has been prepared. Before you set about applying them, level and lightly sand the transitions between colors, remove dust and grease from your fingers and let the paint cure properly - with acrylics rather longer than looks necessary. On matte or grainy paint the carrier film of a decal will not adhere over its whole area and microscopic air bubbles will stay between the varnish and the film.

How to apply the set

Overcoat the painted model with a thin layer of gloss varnish and let it mature. Cut the decal out as closely as possible along the printing, soak it briefly in lukewarm water and wait until it begins to release from the backing. Slide it into place with a soft brush, press the water out with a cotton swab from the center toward the edges and let it dry untouched. Finally even the surface out with an overcoat, according to the sheen the finished machine is to have.

Who the set is for

• Modelers building the Eurofighter Typhoon in 1:72 scale
• Anyone after more striking and less usual finishes than those from the box
• Collectors who put the whole series together part by part
• Modelers who have the main construction behind them and are dealing with the final surface

The decals are an accessory for a model. The model, the paints and the varnishes are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
