Injection-molded plastic kit of the German Arado Ar 66 biplane in its night ground-attack version (Nachtschlacht) in 1:72 scale from RS models. It is a short-run kit intended for more experienced modelers. The box holds injection-molded plastic sprues, clear parts and a decal sheet; the exact contents and markings depend on the particular boxing.
The Arado Ar 66 started out as a German trainer biplane of the early 1930s with an Argus inverted V8 engine. During the Second World War, once more modern types had replaced it in training, a number of airframes found new work with the night ground-attack units (Nachtschlacht) on the Eastern Front. These light biplanes harassed and attacked enemy positions at night with small bombs, and this version captures exactly that combat use.
As with any short-run kit, expect to cut the parts carefully from the sprues, clean them up and dry-fit them before gluing. Glue the joints with thin cement for plastic; for small and clear parts cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) helps. On a biplane, pay attention to seating the upper wing and the struts precisely. Apply a gloss clear coat before the decals and tie the finish together with a light wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
