An injection-molded plastic kit of the German Arado Ar 96 advanced trainer. The model from the Czech manufacturer Smer is an undemanding classic kit with a clear breakdown of parts. It is supplied to be glued and painted.
The Arado Ar 96 was an all-metal two-seat monoplane that became the standard advanced trainer of the Luftwaffe. It was used to train pilots before they moved on to combat types and was built in large numbers. After the war its production continued outside Germany, among other places in Czechoslovakia.
The two-seat cockpit is clearly visible under the long glazing, so finish and paint it first. Glue the landing gear struts and the glazing with a light touch and clean off the flash of the short-run mold. Join the plastic with liquid cement; a primer is recommended. Apply the paints with an airbrush and bring out the panel lines with a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
