This article adds believable armament to an aircraft model that is already finished. It is not an aircraft kit but a single object, which comes into its own in a bomb bay, on a handling trolley or simply laid on the surface beside a machine.
The Mark 36 came about as a more powerful and at the same time more manageably heavy replacement for the first generation of thermonuclear bombs. It was in service roughly between 1956 and 1962 and was carried by the B-36, the B-47 and the early B-52. It was thanks to it that the US Air Force could move from a handful of giant weapons to larger stocks of weapons an ordinary bomber squadron could lift. In shape it is a spindle-like body with a pronounced tail cone and stabilizing fins.
The best result comes from painting away from the model: the bomb is easily held on a stick pushed into the mounting hole. Apply a matte white or aluminum shade in coats and only then add faint traces of wear around the handling points. Keep dry-fitting the joints until they seat exactly without pressure. Sand the casting remains on the underside of the body flat, so that the bomb does not stand crooked in the cradle of the bomb bay.
The aircraft itself and modeling chemicals are not part of the delivery.
