This item from MH models is not a kit of an aircraft but a separate clear cockpit canopy with which you replace the injection-molded part on a model. Vacuum-formed film is noticeably thinner and clearer, so the interior shows through it and the long glazing of the two-seat version looks lighter than the plastic original. According to the name it is the closed version and there are two pieces in the package, so you have a spare while cutting out.
The Avia CS-199 was the two-seat trainer version of the postwar Czechoslovak S-199 fighter, which came about on an airframe derived from the Messerschmitt Bf 109G with a liquid-cooled Junkers Jumo engine. The trainer version had two seats one behind the other and with them markedly longer cockpit glazing, which is the most conspicuous way of telling it from the single-seat machine. It is exactly that shape that makes the canopy a key part of the whole model - if it is thick or inaccurate in shape, it is noticed at once.
Trace the outline with a fine alcohol-based marker, so that it can be seen on the clear film, and cut the part out with a margin. Sand the excess away on fine abrasive paper laid on a flat board and work in small steps, checking the fit on the fuselage as you go. Then polish the surface with a compound for plastics or dip it in gloss clear varnish. Glue it only with a clear glue for clear parts that does not fog the surface; cyanoacrylate glue will cloud it and liquid cement for plastic will attack it. On a long canopy the masking of the frames is the most demanding part of the work - narrow masking tape cut to the width of the frame and patience both pay off.
This is an accessory to a kit, not a stand-alone model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
