Resin replacement main landing gear wheels in 1:72 scale, the manufacturer's part number ARAW72430, from the Ukrainian brand Armory. The manufacturer describes the set as universal, that is without a tie to a single kit, and aims it at machines from the middle of production. In this scale the wheel is small but prominent: plastic wheels from kits tend to have a seam across the tread and only a hinted tire pattern. The resin casting is in one piece and the contact patch is cast flattened, so the model stands convincingly.
The Avro Lancaster was among the hardest-working British heavy bombers of the Second World War. It carried four Rolls-Royce Merlin V12 engines and its unobstructed bomb bay made it possible to carry exceptionally heavy bombs. The main landing gear retracted into the inboard engine nacelles and carried an enormous load on takeoff with a full bomb load, which showed on the tires as marked sag. The design of the wheels changed during production, which is why replacement sets are divided by production period.
Separate the small castings with a saw over a tray, so that they do not get lost. After washing in soapy water, apply a primer and finish the tire in a dark gray shade; pure black swallows all the detail in 1:72. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue).
