Special Hobby A.W. Meteor NF Mk.11 1:72 is an injection-molded plastic kit of the British night jet fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
Injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer Special Hobby. The subject is the night fighter version Armstrong Whitworth Meteor NF Mk.11, a two-seat twin-engined jet with an extended nose for the radar. The edition carries RAF Squadrons markings, that is decals for several squadrons of the Royal Air Force of the 1950s.
The Gloster Meteor was the first British jet aircraft used in combat and first flew while the Second World War was still on. The NF night version was created at Armstrong Whitworth: it received an extended nose with airborne radar, a second crew member (the radar operator) and longer wings. The Mk.11 served with RAF squadrons in the first years of the Cold War, guarded the night airspace and gave rise to further night variants of this successful family.
Special Hobby kits are short-run: the parts usually have casting remains and weaker locating pins, so count on a little sanding and a dry fit before gluing. Mask the glazed cockpit, unify the model with a primer and apply the paints with an airbrush. Handle the radar nose and the engine nacelles as separate subassemblies.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
