Resin machine gun barrels of the Quickboost brand for the American Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress heavy bomber in 1:72 scale. This is not an airplane model but an accurate replacement part for more experienced modelers that takes the place of the plastic barrels from the defensive positions with castings with a faithful shape and a clean end. The row of barrels projecting from the turrets and the side windows is characteristic of the B-17 silhouette, so fine castings markedly improve the overall impression.
The B-17 was an American four-engine heavy bomber of the Second World War, famous for its heavy defensive armament spread across several gun positions. Machine gun barrels in plastic are molded with thick walls and with marks from the mold. The resin replacement offers a thinner and more faithful end. The part is meant to refine an existing B-17 model in the same scale.
Wash the resin parts in lukewarm soapy water to remove any mold release residue from the mold. Cut the thin barrels carefully off the casting blocks with a sharp knife or a fine saw and clean up the surfaces; protect your airways when sanding resin. Bond them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint the barrels in a dark metallic shade and glue them on only at the end of the build, so that they do not get bent.
It is supplied as an unpainted resin accessory for completing a model. Glue, paints and the model itself are not included in the package.
