This is not an aircraft model, but a resin detail accessory in 1:72 scale from Quickboost (a line of the manufacturer Aires). The set contains cast replacement barrels for the defensive machine guns of models of the American four-engined B-17 bomber. The aim is to replace the coarser plastic parts from the kit with sharp resin barrels of truer section and finer muzzles.
The barrels are cast as finished pieces, so once the casting blocks are cut off they only have to be cleaned up and glued in place of the original parts. The result is a markedly more realistic look to the armament without laborious drilling and cleaning up of plastic.
Suitable for more advanced modelers who want to lift the detail of their B-17 kit above the level it comes with.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
