Responsibility details are not available.
Resin replacement engines for a model of the American four-engine heavy bomber Boeing B-17G Flying Fortress in 1:72 scale. It is not an airplane model but a detail part from Quickboost. The faithfully cast radial engines replace the simplified plastic parts and markedly improve the look of the engine nacelles, especially when seen from the front.
The B-17 Flying Fortress was one of the main American daylight bombers of the Second World War, famous for its toughness and its heavy defensive armament. The G version was the most widespread and carried a chin turret under the nose. The aircraft was powered by four Wright R-1820 Cyclone radial engines with turbochargers. The head-on view of the engines is among the most conspicuous details of the whole machine, and a faithful casting lifts it noticeably.
First wash the parts to remove any mold release residue. Separate them carefully from the casting block with a saw or a knife and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate); ordinary plastic cement does not hold on resin. Sand with respiratory protection, because resin dust is very fine. Before painting, roughen the surface lightly and apply a primer suitable for resin.
This is an accessory for refining a plastic kit, not a stand-alone model. Glue, paints and the kit are not included in the package.
