The real subjects

The B-24D is an early production version of the four-engine Liberator heavy bomber, a machine with a high-set narrow wing and a twin vertical tail. The L-4H is its complete opposite: a light high-wing aircraft with a glazed cabin, the military equivalent of the civil Piper Cub, which served on liaison and observation duties. A pair like this on one sheet thus brings together the two extremes of wartime aviation: a bomber of many tons and a small machine that managed without a hard runway.

What the sheet offers

This is a standalone decal sheet in 1:72 scale, that is an accessory to models already built or under construction. Which particular machines and which markings the sheet covers is described in the instructions included in the package; the placing of the individual items on the model follows from them too.

Application tips

• Clear-coat the area under the decals with a gloss clear, as silvered edges show up on a matte surface.
• Cut the items out as close to the artwork as possible; a needlessly wide margin shows on the model.
• The application procedure and the recommended products are given in the manufacturer's instructions, so follow them.
• Once dry and checked, bring the whole model into line with a final clear coat at the sheen you want.

Who it is for

The sheet will be appreciated by modelers who want to give their models markings other than those the box holds, and by builders of themed pairs from one theater. The kits, paints and clear coats are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
