Eduard 1:72 B-24D Liberator national insignia masks

This is a set of pre-cut self-adhesive painting masks from Eduard in 1:72 scale. It is not a kit and not a cockpit accessory but an aid for painting: the masks make it possible to spray the American national insignia (the star in a circle and the side bars) directly onto the surface of a B-24D Liberator bomber model, cleanly and with sharp edges. The material is yellow masking film (kabuki), which follows the shape of each marking exactly. The set is designed for the Airfix kit.

Use

• The masks are peeled off the sheet and stuck onto a surface that has already been painted and clear coated.
• They are then sprayed over with paint in the required order of shades (usually white as a base, then blue and, where needed, red).
• Once dry, the masks are carefully removed and a precisely bounded painted marking is left, with no distracting decal film.
• Sprayed insignia are more durable and look more realistic than applied decals, especially on a broken-up surface.
