A resin accessory in 1:72 scale for a model of the twin-engine attack bomber Douglas Invader, which is known under two designations: originally A-26, later B-26. The set replaces the plastic landing gear wheels from the kit. It is not a model of the aircraft but a detail part in its own right.
Reskit makes wheels for the Invader in several versions distinguished by a type number, and this is type 1. Exactly how the castings differ from one another is not given by the manufacturer in the name; the type designation is given on the box of the set. On propeller aircraft of this category the differences between wheel types usually concern the hub design or the tread pattern of the tire. The safest approach is to compare the set with photographs of the particular machine you are building; the type designation is given by the manufacturer on the box of the set.
Wash the castings in warm water with detergent, otherwise the paint will not hold on any mold release agent residue. On wheels the casting block is usually on the contact face of the tire — cut it off with a fine-toothed saw and level the face on abrasive paper laid on glass, so that the wheel stands straight and the model does not sit lopsided. Sand resin wet and with respiratory protection. It is bonded with super glue; before it sets, stand the model on a flat board and check that it rests on both main wheels and on the nose wheel. Paint the tires in a dark gray with a hint of brown and the hubs according to the particular machine. The wheels of a twin-engine bomber will take fairly heavy dusting, because an aircraft of this type operated from field airfields.
The accessory is supplied unpainted and without a kit. Paints and glue are not included in the package.
