Outlined hinomaru for the Nakajima B5N in 1:72 scale can be sprayed through Dead Design masks even in a large diameter on the wing.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of Dead Design masks for spraying hinomaru with a white outline onto a model of the torpedo aircraft Nakajima B5N in 1:72 scale. The extensive wing offers insignia of a larger diameter, on which every departure from a circle is conspicuous at first sight, so spraying pays off even for modelers who otherwise use decals.
In its day the B5N was the most modern carrier torpedo aircraft in the world: it had retractable landing gear, a folding wing and smooth all-metal surfaces before its opponents did. It was machines of this type that landed the decisive hits on American battleships at Hawaii and later had a hand in the sinking of three aircraft carriers. The crew of three carried either a torpedo or bombs for level bombing from a greater altitude.
On larger circles a mistake cannot be hidden, so line the mask up by the engraved lines or by the wingtip and measure the offset on both halves. Spray the white base area with a margin, so that no green shows through under the red anywhere. Leave a longer gap between the colors than on small insignia, as a heavier coat dries more slowly. Finally check the edge from the side against the light, where any ridge is most easily seen.
