A short-run injection-molded plastic kit in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian manufacturer UM (Unimodel). It captures the Soviet BA-10 medium armored car in the adaptation for moving through snow and rough ground. The package contains molded plastic and photo-etched extras. The winter variant with tracks turns an otherwise ordinary armored car into an unusual piece for the display case and for a snowy diorama alike.
The BA-10 was the most widespread Soviet medium armored car of the end of the 1930s, built on a truck chassis and armed with a 45 mm gun in a turret derived from light tanks. It was deployed from the fighting at Khalkhin Gol through the Winter War to the opening phases of the battles of 1941. For moving over difficult ground and through snow, overlay tracks fitted onto the rear wheels were used, which increased the mobility.
First clean up the short-run parts and dry-fit the chassis and the seating of the tracks. Glue the plastic with thin cement and the photo-etched pieces with cyanoacrylate. After spraying the protective green or the white winter coat, use a wash into the detail and pigments for snow, ice and mud in the running gear. Highlight the worn metal and the edges gently.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
