Black Dog 1:35 British Soldier With Pigeon No. 2 is a resin figure of a British soldier with a homing pigeon.
Responsibility details are not available.
A figure in the 1:35 size captures a British soldier with a homing pigeon. It is a cast resin set by the manufacturer Black Dog, supplied as unassembled and unpainted parts for advanced modelers. The figure suits both as a pronounced element in a military diorama and as an object on its own for a display case.
During the world wars homing pigeons were an ordinary and reliable means of passing messages in conditions where radio or the telephone failed. A soldier captured while handling a pigeon represents a less usual but historically faithful subject, which gives a scene a story.
Wash the mold release residue off the parts, cut off the casting blocks and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. The figure is painted with acrylics or with oils; the uniform will benefit from shading and a dry brush, while small details such as the pigeon will stand out with a careful glaze.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
