This plastic kit in 1:72 scale from the Ukrainian maker UM represents the Soviet BA-9 armored car. The model is molded in injection plastic with fine detail and offers a faithfully worked wheeled chassis with a tandem rear axle. It is a less usual variant in the family of Soviet armored cars of the 1930s.
The BA-9 was a lightened version of the Soviet armored car in which the turret with its gun was replaced by lighter armament with a heavy machine gun. The aim was to cut the weight and improve mobility while keeping the reconnaissance role. The vehicle was built in only small numbers and ranks among the lesser-known types of the BA series.
Assemble the chassis and the axles first, then the hull and the turret. Glue the plastic with liquid cement for plastic. Once a uniform green has been sprayed on, bring the model to life with a wash in the recesses, pick out the edges with a dry brush and use pigments to create dust effects.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
