1:72 decals for a Belgian F-16 in a whole-airframe tiger finish. The set covers the bold artwork which on the real machine reaches the fuselage, the fin and the upper surfaces of the wing.

The tradition of tiger gatherings reaches back to the beginning of the 1960s, when the squadrons whose badges are dominated by a big cat first came together. The meet has repeated every year since, and part of it is the custom modelers like best: host and guests alike have one of their aircraft sprayed in a striped or mottled finish across the whole airframe.
The Belgian squadron based at Kleine Brogel has long been among the regular participants, and its tiger machines have appeared in many guises. From a modest stripe on the rudder to a completely repainted aircraft on which almost nothing was left of the original gray camouflage. The scheme designated X in the name ranks among the most striking, and on a model it is recognizable at first glance.
It is precisely the extent of the artwork that makes the build a more demanding task. The large areas of decal have to be laid in parts, with enough water under the film for them still to be moved and lined up over the unevenness of the panels. Anyone who wants to make the work safer can spray the basic stripes through masks of their own and use from the sheet only the artwork that cannot be sprayed.
Neither the year the finish was applied nor the fuselage number of the aircraft is in the name, so it pays to look the subject up in photographs from that year's meet.
