The Friedrich is built often and its clean shapes deserve sprayed markings; 1:72 Bf 109 F masks for crosses supplies the stencils needed for that.

The smooth shapes of the later Bf 109 tempt one to finish it without a single applied element. For that the set offers stencils in sizes corresponding to 1:72 scale, and the result suits models polished to a high gloss as well.
The move from the Emil to the Friedrich meant cleaner shapes but also fewer barrels. Some experienced fighter pilots welcomed it, because fire concentrated on the axis of the machine rewarded accurate shooting; others called for the return of the wing weapons in order to raise the chance of a hit in the brief moment of an encounter. The dispute ran through the whole service of the type and was dealt with by additional gun pods under the wing. Those, however, worsened the agility, so pilots preferred to drop them before an encounter with an opponent. The subversions differed from one another mainly in the powerplant and in the calibers of the weapons on the axis of the machine.
Leave unused stencils on their original backing and store them in a dark wrapper away from heat. The adhesive layer lasts longer and the film does not ripple. Offcuts often come in useful for masking small things, for instance the leading edge of the radiator or the boundary between shades. Before spraying, make sure that no dust from sanding has clung to the film; a single grain will make a visible notch in the edge.
