An injection-molded plastic kit of the late German fighter Bf 109G-10 in the version built at the Erla works, in 1:72 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard, in the ProfiPACK edition. The package includes plastic parts, colored photo-etch, self-adhesive painting masks, and decals with several marking options. It is a modern-tooled kit with fine panel lines and engraved rivet detail.
The Bf 109G-10 was one of the last and fastest Messerschmitt versions, combining a lighter airframe with a powerful engine. Machines from the Erla works in Leipzig carried a lightened cockpit canopy with fewer frames, known as the Erla-Haube, which improved the pilot's view. Deployed in the war's final stage, the aircraft was among the Luftwaffe's most capable piston fighters.
Glue the small plastic parts with thin liquid plastic cement, and attach the cockpit's colored photo-etch with cyanoacrylate. Fine engraved rivet detail can disappear under a heavy coat of primer, so use thin coats. The included masks help with the sharp framing of the lightened canopy and with the wheels. Late-war Luftwaffe camouflage schemes offer room for interesting color combinations.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
