1:72 Bf 109G-6, exhausts is a resin accessory from Quickboost for a model of the German fighter of the Second World War period. It replaces the plastic exhaust stubs with a casting with drilled-out outlets.
Responsibility details are not available.
The G-6 version is one of the most widespread forms of the Messerschmitt Bf 109 and was powered by the liquid-cooled Daimler-Benz DB 605 inverted V12. The exhaust stubs emerging on both sides of the engine cowling are one of the few places on a model of this type where careful work shows at first glance. The item offered here is not a kit but a resin accessory intended to replace these parts on a model in 1:72 scale.
In 1:72 scale a plastic exhaust as a rule has a solid, blanked-off outlet. Drilling out six small tubes on each side by hand is work for a very steady hand. A resin casting offers the openings ready-made and with a wall that matches the scale. The difference is visible above all from the front and from the side, that is from the angles from which a model is usually photographed.
First wash the castings in lukewarm soapy water. Cut the casting block away with a fine razor saw and sand the surface so that the exhausts lie flat against the engine cowling and in one axis. They are glued with cyanoacrylate, of which very little is enough. Build the painting up in layers from a dark base through rusty and grayish tones applied with a dry brush to the suggestion of scorched edges. Apply the smoke trails running back from the exhausts along the sides of the fuselage with a fine overspray of heavily thinned paint or with pigment, always only after the decals are on and the matte coat has been applied.
This is an accessory for a build and is supplied unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package.
