The Breda Ba.88B Lince masking set in 1:72 scale is an accessory for spraying a model of the Italian twin-engined attack aircraft.
Responsibility details are not available.
It is not a kit but a modeling aid. The set contains masking templates for spraying a model of the Italian twin-engined Breda Ba.88 Lince in the version designated Ba.88B in 1:72 scale. The templates are stuck onto a finished and sanded surface, sprayed over and taken off once dry; the result is a sharp division that is hard to achieve by drawing along the line with a brush. Which surfaces of the model the templates cover is described in the enclosed instructions.
The Breda Ba.88 Lince, that is Lynx, was an Italian all-metal twin-engined machine of the second half of the 1930s. In prototype form it drew attention with its speed performance and became the subject of propaganda at the time. As soon as it was given armament, armor and operational equipment, however, the performance fell sharply and the aircraft proved unusable for combat. In North Africa it proved itself so little that a number of machines ended their days as ground decoys and dummies at airfields. For a modeler that makes it all the more interesting a subject: the unusual shape, the twin vertical tail surfaces and the Italian camouflage scheme make the Lince a striking piece in a display case.
