CMK 1:72 P-40 - control surfaces is a resin accessory from the Czech maker CMK that replaces the ailerons, elevator, rudder and flaps from the Special Hobby kit and lets you show them in a deflected position.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not an aircraft kit but a resin detail set in 1:72 scale from the Czech maker CMK. It contains separately cast control surfaces for the P-40 fighter, which let you show deflected ailerons, elevator, rudder and flaps on the finished model and give it a livelier, dynamic look. The set is intended for Special Hobby plastic P-40 models in this scale.
The Curtiss P-40 Warhawk (Tomahawk and Kittyhawk in British service) was an American single-seat fighter of the Second World War, easy to recognize by its long nose housing the Allison V12 engine. It served on most fronts, from North Africa through the Pacific to the Chinese theater, and won fame with the Flying Tigers unit and its painted shark mouth.
First wash the parts free of mold release agent residue, carefully cut off the casting blocks and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Protect your airways when sanding resin. Dry-fit the deflected surfaces and check the angle before fixing them in place. Picking out the hinges and gaps in contrast reinforces the final impression.
The accessory is supplied unpainted as a resin set. Paints, glue and the base kit are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
