An aerial depth charge is a weapon dropped from low altitude onto the surface, which explodes at a set depth and works through the pressure wave in the water. British 250-pound charges were among the basic armament of naval aviation machines tasked with patrolling over the sea. In construction it is a cylindrical body with an aerodynamic tail and stabilizing fins, carried under the wing or in the bomb bay. On a model such external stores are a prominent feature that immediately explains what the aircraft was for.
Wash the resin parts first in lukewarm soapy water, otherwise paint will not hold on them because of mold release agent residue. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw and sand the surface smooth; sand resin wet and protect your airways. They are bonded with super glue, as ordinary cement for plastic will not work. Try the mounting dry: with small external stores it is worth drilling a hole in the body and in the rack and reinforcing the joint with a short piece of wire, otherwise the charge is easily knocked off when the model is handled. Painting: a primer, then the shade of the body itself, thin stripes of markings and finally a fine wash in the panel lines. Check the particular color scheme against a period photograph of your own aircraft.
