The decals British Cromwell Mk IV and Mk VI in 1:72 scale follow the British cruiser tanks on the way from Normandy right to German territory.
Responsibility details are not available.
A Star Decals sheet for models of the British Cromwell cruiser tank. Thematically it covers the campaign from the Normandy landings right to the fighting on German territory.
The Cromwell was a fast cruiser tank powered by the Meteor engine, derived from the Merlin aero engine. The Mk IV version carried a 75mm gun and made up the core of the armored reconnaissance regiments, while the Mk VI was armed with a 95mm howitzer and served for support. Both versions commonly met side by side in the units, so markings for them make sense on a shared sheet. British vehicles carried a combination of tactical insignia, formation numbers and registration numbers, which gives a model credibility even without complicated weathering. The registration numbers were painted on the sides of the hull and tend to be clearly legible.
British insignia tend to be small and square, so it pays to cut a decal out as tight as possible to the drawing. A sharp scalpel and a new blade will prevent the edge from fraying. The narrower the rim of clear membrane, the less the transition between the decal and the paint will show under varnish. With insignia on sloping areas it is better to press the membrane down with a cotton swab as well.
