A replacement barrel for the British QF 2-pdr 40 mm gun in the Mk.X form with a step in the barrel, and with it the muzzles of Besa machine guns, all in 1:72 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The QF 2-pdr, that is the British two-pounder, a 40 mm gun, was the main antitank weapon of British armored vehicles at the beginning of the Second World War. It was carried by infantry and cruiser tanks and by armored cars, among them the Matilda, the Valentine, the Crusader and the Daimler. Alongside the gun there was usually a coaxial Besa, a 7.92 mm machine gun which came about in Britain under license from a Czechoslovak design and from there entered the armament of a range of British types.
The accessory offers a replacement barrel for the gun in the Mk.X form, that is with the stepped transition on the barrel, and alongside it the muzzles of Besa machine guns. In 1:72 scale a barrel from an injection-molded kit tends to be thicker than the subject warrants, has a blind muzzle and bends easily during the build. A replacement part holds its shape, has a slimmer profile and an open muzzle, so the silhouette of the turret looks more faithful. The exact list of parts, and the kits whose dimensions the accessory is built to, are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut the plastic barrel off as close to the mantlet as possible and clean the hole up, so that the replacement part seats at a right angle. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little away from the part and sand the remainder. Before gluing and painting, wash and degrease the part. Superglue works well for the joint. Fit the barrel at the end of the build, while the turret is still freely accessible.
What is supplied is the accessory alone. The kit, glue and paints are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
