A resin set of replacement wheels in 1:72 scale, the manufacturer's part number ARAW72507, from the Ukrainian brand Armory. The tires are cast weighted: the contact patch is flattened and the sidewall slightly bulged, so the heavy transport really sits on its landing gear. On the Transall this shows well, because the main landing gear is low to the ground and on a standing model the eye falls on it as one of the first details. It is an accessory for a kit, not an airplane model.
The C-160 Transall is a tactical transport aircraft that came out of a French-German consortium whose name also gave the type its nickname. It has a high-mounted wing, two Rolls-Royce Tyne turboprop engines and a rear cargo ramp, so it can handle short and unpaved strips. It served the Luftwaffe and the French Air Force for decades, it was used for airdrops, for resupply and for humanitarian flights, and it was exported to further countries.
After washing in soapy water, separate the parts from the casting block with a saw and level the contact patch. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). A primer is essential on resin. For the dusty look that goes with a tactical aircraft, a light pigment or a dry brush along the edges of the tread works well.
