This set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard contains precisely pre-cut self-adhesive masks made of fine Japanese kabuki tape. It is not a kit and it is not a model, but an accessory for clean masking of the cockpit glazing, the fuselage windows and the wheels when spraying paint. The set is in 1:72 scale.
The masks are applied to the cockpit frames and the fuselage windows and to the wheel rims. After spraying, the glass stays clear and the tires stay free of paint. Kabuki tape adapts to the shape of the frames, holds tight and leaves no adhesive when peeled off. On an aircraft with glazing as divided as this, the set saves a great deal of time compared with cutting tape by hand.
The Douglas C-47 Skytrain (the Dakota in British service) is an American twin-engine military transport aircraft of the Second World War, derived from the DC-3 airliner. It carried paratroopers, cargo and the wounded and became one of the most important transport aircraft of the war.
The set contains pre-cut self-adhesive masking parts only. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
