Camouflage stencils for the Israeli F-16C at a reduction of 1:72, supplemented with cutouts for the national insignia. Camouflage and markings can thus be dealt with from one sheet and with one technique.
Responsibility details are not available.
The designation Barak is carried by the Israeli branch of the single-seat F-16C, whose avionics and armament went through domestic modifications. The machines have served since the mid-1980s and wear a desert scheme made up of brown, sand and green fields, whose boundaries are flowing and are not repeated even between two aircraft of the same squadron. On the fin and the wing a six-pointed star is added to them, which the Israeli Air Force uses as its national insignia.
The sheet joins two jobs in which you proceed the opposite way. The camouflage is built from the bottom: the lightest tone covers the whole machine, once it has set the places that are to stay light are covered and the darker tone goes over them. With the insignia it is the other way around - its shape is first drawn into the finished camouflage and the area around it stays protected.
The least damage is done by pulling the film off while the model is still lukewarm from the recent spraying. Cooled film hardens and when pulled away it lifts fibers of paint into a frayed line along the edge. It helps to warm the model with lukewarm air and to lead the film at a sharp angle so that it folds back onto itself.
Once uncovered, the edge stays sharp along its whole length; anyone who wants a softer transition can pack the stencil out beforehand with a thin strip, so that the edge lifts and the paint penetrates under it in a fine veil. The difference between the two ways is clearly visible at this reduction, because the camouflage bands themselves are only a few millimeters wide here and a hard line shows on them at first glance.
