Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the British Centaur Mk.IV tank in 1:72 scale from the Polish maker IBG Models. It is a modern tooling; according to the manufacturer, photo-etched parts are included as well. The model captures the fire support version armed with a 95 mm tank howitzer.
The Centaur was a British cruiser tank closely related to the Cromwell type: it shared the hull with it but had the weaker Liberty aero engine instead of the powerful Meteor. The Mk.IV version carried a 95 mm tank howitzer and was the only variant of the Centaur that actually got into combat. During the Normandy landings in June 1944 it was deployed by the armored support group of the Royal Marines, and Centaurs firing from landing craft destroyed German fortifications and then supported the advancing infantry. It was a short but significant combat deployment.
In 1:72 scale, build in subassemblies: first the running gear and the hull, and the turret with the howitzer separately. Bend the small photo-etched parts with tweezers and glue them with super glue; glue the plastic with liquid cement for polystyrene. Spray a thin primer before painting. British equipment from Normandy usually carried a uniform olive drab shade; create the weathering with a restrained wash into the engraved lines, with a dry brush on the edges and with pigments for mud and dust, always gently in a small scale.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
