Injection-molded plastic kit of the Centurion Mk.5/1 RAAC in 1:72 scale from Vespid Models: an Australian Centurion from the Vietnam War with a high level of detail.
Responsibility details are not available.
An injection-molded plastic kit of the Centurion Mk.5/1 tank in the Royal Australian Armoured Corps (RAAC) form from the Vietnam War, in 1:72 scale from Vespid Models. Although this is a small scale, the kit offers a level of detail and accessories that we usually find only on larger models: photo-etched parts, clear parts, wire, a metal gun barrel and tracks made up of lengths combined with individual links. The main hatch can be built open or closed. Check the exact contents of the box and the edition (standard or deluxe) against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Centurion was among the most successful postwar tanks and served in many armies for decades. The Australian RAAC used its Centurions armed with the 20-pounder gun in Vietnam; the first machines arrived in South Vietnam at the beginning of 1968. In the conditions there they proved themselves as armored fire support for the infantry in dense country. The Mk.5/1 version grew out of the proven Mk.5 with partial modifications.
In a small scale, clean up the small and photo-etched parts carefully and glue them according to their material. Paint the running gear before the hull is finished and degrease the metal barrel before painting. Assemble the tracks of lengths and links according to the instructions. Apply a primer and the paints with an airbrush and lay the decals over a gloss coat. An olive base color completed with dust and mud through a wash and pigments suits the Vietnam service.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
