An injection-molded plastic kit of the Chinese Shenzhou spacecraft in 1:72 scale from Trumpeter. The model captures the characteristic construction of the craft with its three main sections and solar panels and comes with a stand for display. It is a static model, that is, a faithful scaled-down version of the real thing, meant to be glued, painted and displayed.
Shenzhou (divine vessel) is a Chinese crewed spacecraft, based conceptually on the Russian Soyuz but larger and modernized. It consists of an orbital module, a reentry capsule for the crew and an instrument (service) section with solar panels. It was with a craft of this series that China carried out its first crewed spaceflight, becoming the third country to send a human into space under its own power.
Glue the parts with liquid modeling cement for plastic and clean up the seams by sanding. The solar panels and the metallic-looking surfaces will stand out if sprayed with an airbrush and lightly weathered. Using a gloss coat under the decals and a matte overcoat at the end will give the model a clean, realistic look. Before fitting the base, think through the order in which you paint the individual sections.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
