A set of water-slide decals in 1:72 scale from Furball Aero-Design. The second part of the collection offers markings for twelve F6F-5 Hellcat carrier fighters in the overall Glossy Sea Blue finish of 1944 to 1945. The decals stand out for their faithful color and good registration.
The Grumman F6F Hellcat was the main carrier fighter of the US Navy in the closing stage of the Second World War in the Pacific and gained an overwhelming superiority over Japanese aviation. The F6F-5 version served aboard a number of aircraft carriers with distinctive unit markings.
Apply the decals onto a gloss base to prevent silvering. After dipping in water, slide the decal into place, fine-tune its position and blot the surplus water away. A decal softener will improve adhesion; finally tie the surface together with varnish.
