CMK Crew for Schnellboot S-100 (1:72, resin figure set)

A set of three resin figures of the German crew of the command bridge of an S-100 type fast motor torpedo boat in 1:72 scale, from the Czech maker CMK. It is not a model of the boat but an accessory meant to bring the deck of a finished Schnellboot S-100 kit to life. The figures are cast in resin with fine detail on the uniforms and are intended for more experienced modelers. They are supplied unassembled and unpainted.

The subject

The Schnellboot fast boats (the Allies designated them E-boats) were German torpedo boats deployed during the Second World War in the English Channel, the North Sea and the Mediterranean. The S-100 type was one of the later versions with an armored command bridge. Figures on the bridge will give a scene with the boat both scale and life.

Building and painting tips

First wash the parts to remove mold release residue, carefully cut off the casting blocks and clean up with respiratory protection. Glue with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Both an airbrush and a brush suit the painting; the faces and uniforms will stand out once brought out with a wash and a dry brush.
