The Daimler Armoured Car was a British four-wheeled armored car with all-wheel drive, brought into service during the Second World War and used above all by reconnaissance units. It had independent suspension on all wheels and, for its day, above-average handling across country. The turreted version carried a two-pounder gun supplemented by a machine gun, while the conversion without a turret lowered the silhouette of the vehicle and suited reconnaissance, liaison and escort work.
In a small scale it pays to start with the chassis and the running gear and only then close the hull up: you will struggle to reach the inner surfaces later. Separate the small parts with a sharp scalpel and join them with a thin cement for plastic, which is drawn into the joint by capillary action. Apply a thin base coat before painting, so that the shade holds evenly. British vehicles come out best with gentle accenting of the panel lines and a light layer of dust on the wheels and in the wheel arches.
